How to create a QR-code

QR codes can be useful for many purposes, such as quickly connecting to WiFi or ordering from a digital menu. At CombiCraft, you can customize a wide range of products with your own QR code. In this blog, we'll explain how to submit your QR code correctly to make sure everything works smoothly.

A QR code is a square pattern of black and white blocks that works like a digital barcode. When you scan it with your smartphone camera, it directs you to a specific link. For a QR code to work properly, the link must be correct and the code must be easy to scan.

Frequently asked questions about QR codes

1. What if I want the same QR code on multiple products?
Simply enter the link in the comment field on the product page or email it to info@combicraftshop.com along with your order number. If you've already created your own QR code, you can also send it to us by email.

2. How do I submit multiple different QR codes?
Please provide an Excel file with all the links listed in a single column. In the next column, indicate which product belongs to each QR code, such as the size or color. This allows us to easily match the correct QR code to each product.

For large orders, we prefer not to receive individual image files. If you have any questions, feel free to contact our customer service team.

3. I've created my own design with a QR code. Can you print it?
Yes! We can print or engrave your design with a QR code onto your chosen product. We prefer to receive images and logos as vector files (EPS or AI, Windows-compatible) or high-resolution JPG files.

Make sure to test your QR code beforehand to confirm that it works properly.

4. My QR code has too many blocks. Can this be adjusted?
The longer the link, the more blocks your QR code will contain. You can use a URL shortening tool, such as Bitly.com, to shorten your link. This can reduce the number of blocks and make the QR code easier to scan.

5. What is the minimum size for a QR code?
This depends on the product you're adding the QR code to and the length of the link. The most important thing is that the code remains easy to scan. That's why we use a minimum size of 20 × 20 mm.

How to submit a QR code for WiFi signs

For WiFi signs, you don't need to create or submit a QR code yourself. We'll generate one based on your network name, password, and security type.

You can usually find this information on your router or request it from your internet service provider. Not sure which security type your network uses? In most cases, it's WPA or WPA2.

When ordering a WiFi sign, you'll always receive a digital proof beforehand so you can test the QR code.

To test the code properly, follow these steps:

  1. Forget the WiFi network on your phone.

  2. Make sure you're within range of the network.

  3. Scan the QR code and check whether your phone connects automatically.

Frequently asked questions about WiFi QR codes

1. Why do I still need to enter a password to connect?
Your network may have a captive portal or an additional authentication step. This means your device needs permission before it can connect.

This is a network setting that can only be changed by your internet service provider or IT administrator. Unfortunately, we have no control over this.

However, you can order a WiFi sign that displays both the QR code and the login details.

2. My WiFi QR code isn't working. What should I do?
First, check that the network name and password match the information on your router exactly, including capital letters and spaces.

It's also possible that your network uses a different security type. You can check this in your router settings or ask your internet service provider.
